Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information. In plain English where we can.

Last updated: November 1, 2026 · Effective: November 1, 2026

The TL;DR

  • • We collect what we need to run your account and personalize your recruiting tracker — nothing more.
  • We don't sell your personal information. Ever.
  • • We use a small number of well-known vendors (Stripe for payments, etc.) to operate the Service.
  • • You can request your data or delete your account at any time by emailing us.
01

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how [The Pulse, LLC] (“The Pulse LLC,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our website and services.

If you have questions about anything in this policy, email us at thepulseprep@gmail.com.

02

Information We Collect

We collect three categories of information:

You give us
Account information (name, email, password hash), onboarding profile (university, graduation year, school email, current company), and any content you submit (e.g., a resume sent for review).
Automatically
Basic usage data: pages viewed, features used, IP address, device and browser information, approximate location (from IP), and timestamps. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
From vendors
Limited information from our payment processor (Stripe) — including the last four digits of your card, billing zip, and subscription status. We do not store full payment card numbers.
03

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Personalize your recruiting tracker, application status, and saved roles.
  • Process payments, deliver subscriptions, and provide one-time services.
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, subscription notices).
  • Send product updates and occasional marketing email — you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, account sharing, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not use your personal information to train any machine-learning model, and we do not sell your personal information to data brokers or third parties.

05

When We Share Information

We share personal information only in limited cases:

  • With subprocessors who help us operate the Service (see Section 06).
  • When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Pulse LLC, our users, or others.
  • In connection with a corporate transaction — for example, a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will notify users before personal information is transferred.
  • With your explicit consent for any sharing not covered above.

We do not sell your personal information.

06

Subprocessors & Vendors

We use a small number of well-known service providers to operate the Service. Each one is bound by confidentiality and data-protection commitments.

Stripe
Payments and subscription billing. Stores tokenized payment data; we do not store full card numbers.
Vercel
Application hosting and infrastructure.
Supabase
PostgreSQL database hosting.
Google Workspace
Operational email and internal documents.
Calendly
Scheduling coaching sessions (only when you book one).

We review this list as it evolves and may update it from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.

07

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes:

  • Strictly necessary — to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and secure your account.
  • Analytics — to understand aggregate usage of the Service. We use privacy-conscious analytics that do not include third-party advertising trackers.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Service (including authentication) will not work without them.

08

Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Billing records are retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law.

You can request deletion of your account at any time — see Section 10.

09

Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. These include encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest where applicable, hashed and salted passwords, role-based access controls, and audit logging on sensitive operations.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever experience a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law.

10

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights regarding your personal information. We honor the following rights for all users, regardless of jurisdiction:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — update or correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated personal information.
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email, or by contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at thepulseprep@gmail.com from the address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days. If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act; the rights listed above cover those rights and we treat them as equivalent.

11

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12

International Users

The Pulse LLC is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

13

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you — for example, by email or by posting a notice on the Service — before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was most recently revised.
